Project description:

The aim of the project is to propose recommendations for the adoption of automated checking of regulatory compliance in the design of healthcare facilities. These are developed within a broader context of healthcare design requirements management and modelling. More specifically, the research will focus on identifying enablers and barriers of using Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools aligned with process changes for automated compliance checking. This project aligns with the CDBB Research Programme through better understanding an existing gap in Digital Britain, i.e. the adoption of automation in regulatory or code checking, as well as championing human centric design of social infrastructure i.e. hospitals and/or healthcare centres.
